Artist's Description

I am inspired by the coast (where I live) and have always had a fascination with astronomy; this painting combines my love of both: depending on your viewpoint, it can look like an ocean washing on the shore or a planetary body.
There is great depth, texture and patterning throughout, with the coppery gold adding a beautiful sparkle when touched by light which is hard to capture in a photograph.
The paint has been carried onto the sides, so doesn't need framing.
