A Ray of Light is a watercolour piece influenced by a wonderful Japanese artist I very much admire - Yuko Nagayama. I have freely applied watercolour with large brushes and buckets of water to achieve the wonderful free effects which can be achieved with this great medium when you allow it to have its own way. There is some lovely lace stencilling in the cloth and jug and I have used a light and bright colour scheme of pinks, greys and greens to represent the joy of the blooming of spring and how exciting to be able to display some colourful blossoms on your windowsill. This is part of the series in this style of works. Keywords:
