Annie's Lillies by Lucinda Leveille is a floral inspired watercolour piece on Canson rough paper.
I tutor art and one of my adorable ladies in her 80's was quite put out when I named a piece recently as Lily of the Valley, well I had used liberally artistic license with the rendering of the flowers - so in deference to Anny - here is the real Lily of the Valley. I always seem to be drawn back to flowers in the landscape when I pick up my watercolours and of course my favourite flower is Queen Anne Lace but I adore any little lacey groups of flowers on their delicate long stems when they lift their faces up to the sun. They seem to rise above the rabble and crush of the garden at ground level. I am really enjoying working and exploring the combination of colour and line drawing too!
