La Vie En Rose, Yeppoon - watercolour series
Tonal watercolour on 300gsm Arches paper 36x27 - in a professionally made white frame 51x43
I love this soft, ethereal painting snuggled behind glass.
I'm doing a watercolour series of 'home' Yeppoon, on the Capricorn Coast.
My aim is to paint the feeling of home, especially in the late afternoon when the sky turns pink and everything is 'touched'. A feeling of timelessness, that's soft and warm, enveloped by the waning sun, paddling in gentle laps of cool water on deserted beaches. I love the feeling of space and anonymity. It's a friendly, healing place.
This one has a memory of my three oldest sons when they were little and we lived on Cooee Bay Beach. I tried to capture a photo in the actual white frame, but could not do it without reflections.
They are lovely. I've included photos of the actual frame, made by Driftwood Frames, Yeppoon
