Diptych of two large canvases 100cm x 70cm each.
Large Monterey Pine tree, common around Port Phillip Bay in Victoria. These magnificant pines, originated from California, USA. This particular one (now gone) was in Mordialloc (also shown in my painting 'Happy Hour') and I frequently drove or trained past it and its fellow pines. This one really stood out as it had a double trunk and was just so tall and majestic. After painting it, I saw in it a correlation of the lush canopy being my home state Queensland with the lush green tropics and the long trunks to my travels being the highways between my home and Victoria in the south.
