This piece is a little collage of special memories I've put together from a trip I took almost 10 years ago, to Dubai and Morocco.
It combines my favourite plate, a handmade Turkish ceramic beauty purchased in Dubai, and the colours from the Jardin Marjorelle (Marjorelle gardens) in Morocco, which I was ecstatic at seeing.
I love the plate and the garden as they are in my favourite ever colour- ultramarine blue- or in the case of the Marjorelle Garden, Marjorelle Blue.
Jacques Marjorelle was an artist who created the garden, and painted it in his blue, of which ultramarine blue is the closest to it, I highly recommend googling these gardens!
Now as to the plate, where is it you ask? Well I reinterpreted it as the vase! Turkish ceramics are stunning. I liked the idea of a vase for this piece though, so incorporated the colours and patterns from the plate into this vase.
Ultramarine and Marjorelle blue, plus my plate, and the memories of the Marjorelle gardens, will forever remind
