Life

“Roses do not bloom hurriedly; for life, like any masterpiece, takes time to blossom.”
? Matshona Dhliwayo

“I kept reaching for my muses,
my wandering muses, floating
on clouds filled with their passions.”
(Muses of Wandering Passions, p. 64)”
? Chimnese Davids, Muses of Wandering Passions

The Nine Muses were considered the source of the knowledge embodied in the poetry, lyric songs, and myths that were related orally for centuries in these ancient cultures. I wanted to capture the secret nature of the mysterious Muses, who bloom in the sub-conscious, awaiting to blossom. Resin captured their mystery best, it was also fun, learning by trial and error, the mystery of resin as an artistic expression.
The resin is on a 61x61 MDF Board Hand Made (Australia's leading arts and social change company www.bighart.org). It is professionally framed in a white frame, making the finished piece 64x64x4 ready to hang.

Passion's Muses

? Chimnese Davids, Muses of Wandering Passions

The Nine Muses in Greek mythology have been an inspiration to artists since antiquity. They are the daughters of Zeus, the Greek father of all gods, and Mnemosyne. The Muses are the inspirational goddesses of literature, science, and the arts in Greek mythology. They were considered the source of the knowledge embodied in the poetry, lyric songs, and myths that were related orally for centuries in these ancient cultures.

I wanted to capture the secret nature of the mysterious Muses, who bloom in the sub-conscious awaiting silence and stillness, to blossom. Resin captured their mystery best, it was also fun, learning by trial and error, the mystery of resin as an artistic expression.
