My latest piece from my bird series is inspired by the freedom to travel and explore. I created a realistic bird based loosely off a butcher bird that sings out the front each morning. I made up the realistic aspect as I went with smooth brushes of charcoal. I then mixed a variety of 11 acrylic colours to express movement and feeling. I created a darker mix for the top wing and softer mix to show the under wing in a somewhat realistic manner of light and tone. The resin mix has some interesting features, which look geological in areas.
I used a specific ready to hang canvas with environmentally sustainable pine backing behind high quality cotton duck canvas and also a thick 4cm cross pine frame. This heavier canvas allows me to create more realistic and detailed charcoal art pieces. Over 200 of my artworks have been safely shipped worldwide; with insurance and tracker included.
