This piece is a focus on connections between humans and nature. That connection you have that you can't explain when both you and the animal recognise or understand something at the same time. I often have this connection with one of my dogs as we sit out the back and look up at the various birds in the tree. When we see a bird do something unique or interesting, we might look at each other as if to say "you say that right?" I am fascinated in the small degree of separation between all living forms and with interests in existentialism, I'm inspired to create my visual representation of what is rolling around in my head. I use women as my focus as I feel they are the beautiful, positive and natural form in a representation of human existence.
I've used a mix of techniques I've made up to get a smooth charcoal and acrylics mix and then work in oils to bring a strong brightness and contrast to focal areas. This piece is sealed with high quality satin clear to assist in long lasting shin
