La Vie En Rose, Yeppoon - watercolour series

Yeppoon, despite the changes somehow or other, still feels 'timeless'. It might be to do with the long, often deserted beaches, or the the warmth of the Capricorn sun, the softness of evening's pink skies; or is it the old, very old houses still snuggled in between modernity? My aim is to paint the 'feeling' of Yeppoon. To me, its 'pink, soft, ethereal, evocative, friendly yet anonymous'.
Watercolour, using tonal effects, captures for me the sun's effect of making everything hazy, lazy, glimmering and indistinct.
The painting is framed in a local, professionally made by Driftwood frames, classic, slightly recessed white frame. The frame finishes the painting and completes the feeling I hope to convey - to do with the glass effect and the classy feeling. I don't charge for the frames, they are the finishing touch to the creative process.
