This stand-alone piece is one of my first forays into realism, singularly. I was initially draw to the innocence of the figure and how his eyes are a fixed intently on what is perceived to be the viewer. Some exploration into tonal values was made with the skin tone against the vibrancy of the clothing. Paired with the neutrality of the background, I feel that the viewer would be drawn to the innocence of the figure, and perceive their own views on the texture of the Brushwork.
