Katia Strounina is a part-time artist working from her home studio in Redland Bay, Queensland. Katia’s works feature very recognisable style, often with abstract-like qualities of lands, waters or plants, presented with unexpected shapes, colours or atmospheric effects. There are subtle elements of humour, an allegory or a philosophical thought. Her landscape paintings are convincing, showing an intimate connection with places explored by foot, with a backpack.
Katia’s practice features surprising diversity, including oils and watercolour, graphical works from pencil to silverpoint, etchings, woodblock prints and small scale sculpture.
Katia’s artworks have been acquired for private collections in Australia and Europe.
I am a member of the Royal QLD Art Society and participate in all Society's shows and competitions. First Prize for sculpture in the annual member's show, 2021. I had annual solo shows in the Old Schoolhouse gallery (Cleveland) and in the Atelier Art Classes' gallery.
I have a number of private sales from galleries, group shows and from another online platform. Also do commissions sometimes.
