Emilia Rebelo

I was born in Portugal, lived in Africa in my early years and then moved to Sydney, Australia as a young woman. I have lived in beautiful Sydney ever since and am a very proud Aussie.
Growing up in remote country towns, I grew a strong attachment to nature, animals and people. This affinity, and cultural diversity has influenced my art and is the basis for my striking and colourful paintings. My love for travel, photography, the outdoors and the Australian bush, eg Cape York and Fraser Island in Queensland, the Flinders Ranges, the Blue Mountains and the Southern highlands in NSW and the east coast of Australia, have all inspired me and helped me with ideas. I love colour and the harmony of nature, blue skies, rain, snow lined roads and vibrant sunsets. I see beauty everywhere and am constantly on the lookout for new opportunities and ideas. Working in both oils and acrylic paint, I have a bold colour palette, using either a fluid or impasto style, which give my paintings a presence that captures the essence of the subjects or wilderness and produces a vivid end result.


NOTE: I package all my artworks carefully in recycled, 2nd hand cardboards and materials to help save our trees.
